Südergellersen - Amelinghausen 13,6 km ---------- total distance 24,0 km

Profil

Stage 2 is the longest one but also just 13,6km, and really flat, partly wavy and fast. The only short rise is just before Amelinghausen. We leave Südergellersen on the Wetzer Weg, an asphalted street. After 3,2km straight ahead we turn to the right and after passing a small forest we reach the village Wetzen. A few metres later we have to cross the main street and leave the village on the Wiesengrund. Then we turn right to go on the Wetzener Weg towards Oldendorf/Luhe. After 2km we reach Oldendorf and cross the district road K34 (Marxener Straße). A few steps later we turn to the left to take the forest track towards Amelinghausen. The course follws the Luhe valley and afetr 900m we can see the Oldendorfer Totenstadt on the left, a touristic spot, an ensemble of stone cultures from the middle stone age. Shortly afterwards we turn to the right, cross the Luhe river on a wooden bridge, turn left and reach the Lopau lake which is a popular recreation area. We run along the right bank and at the end of the lake we turn left to underpass the railway bridge. Next up there is a 100m slow rise. A little later we turn left and reach the sport ground in Amelinghausen as the finish of stage 2.
