3. International  Lüneburg Heath Relay Run

& Ultra-Marathon

June 19, 2021

100 km across the  Lüneburg Heath Nature park

Dear runners,

For a long time it was questionable, now it is official: The 3rd Lüneburg Heath Relay & Ultra Marathon cannot take place on June 19, 2021.

We would have loved to meet you on June 19th for the start in Lüneburg and would have loved to experience the team spirit through the Lüneburger Heide together and closely with you. According to the decrees of the state of Lower Saxony and the Lower Saxony Athletics Association to prohibit all running events or the events with more than 1000 participants until the end of June or the end of August, we have to cancel our event with a heavy heart.

In the end, a possible rescheduling to the autumn is out of the question. By scheduling it later in the year, we would get in the way of all existing autumn events and major events that have already been moved to autumn, such as the Hamburg Marathon etc.

We are disappointed - but of course we also understand. Because we runners also have a common goal. And that is a goal for which it is also worthwhile for us running enthusiasts to stand still for once.

Hopefully we'll see you on June 19, 2021 for the 3rd Lüneburg Heath Relay & Ultra Marathon.

We wish you all the best, best health and optimism.

Running keeps us together!

Best regards

The 100km Lüneburg Heath Relay Race & Ultra Marathon will take place on Saturday, June 19, 2021.  Slightly in the south of Hamburg you will run through the Nature Park Lüneburg Heath, one of Germany's most magnificent and diversified cultural landscapes and a popular tourist destination. The circular course is touching fascinating heath-, moor- and woodlands and connects cities and villages in the region. The scenic route guarantees a unic nature experience.

The Lüneburg Heath Relay Race & Ultra Marathon is believed to point out the uniqueness and diversity of this region as a nature landscape. With this event we also want to have a lasting effect on the consciousness for the correlation between nature protection and health.

Lüneburg city is a great place to stay!

The starting gun will be fired in the heart of Lüneburg, Am Sande. The finish line is close to the centre.

The 100km-track has been surveyed by the German Athletic Association and can be used for championships.
